The Department of Private Law was established following the division of the Law Department into two branches: the Department of Public Law and the Department of Private Law, as per University Order No. 559 on October 6, 2020.
The department supervises and teaches various subjects, including: Introduction to Law, Introduction to Islamic Sharia, History of Law, Obligations, Personal Status (Marriage, Divorce, Wills, Inheritance), Commercial Law, Named Contracts, Companies, Civil Procedures, Evidence, Commercial Papers, Real Rights, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence, Private International Law, Labor and Social Security Law, and Enforcement Law.
The department plays a significant role in overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including Master's and Doctoral degrees. It focuses on legal relationships involving individuals' private transactions, particularly in civil, commercial, and personal status matters.
The Department of Private Law includes a team of highly qualified professors and regularly organizes conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops on topics directly related to people's lives. The department also offers postgraduate studies (Master's and Ph.D.) taught by distinguished faculty members (Professors and Assistant Professors) to enhance students' academic standards.
